First blog ever
This is my first blog ever ever ever. So far so good. The Summercamp! team is especially excited to be getting this film out to the world, and I will take this space now to thank AOL/True Stories for kicking this off--it's a film dear to our hearts and we owe much thanks to many people. We premiered at SXSW in the coolest city of Austin. Then we re-premieried at the humongoid Toronto Film festival (thanks to uber-dude Thom Powers), where we spent lots of money trying to bring attention to our little film in the hopes of getting picked up. We got iced by the big fancy distributors, so we got a kick-ass booker named Jim Browne to help us self-release the film in theaters across the country. We open at the IFC Center in NYC July 18 and on and on into the fall! We'll keep everyone posted. Obviously.
Here's to DIY--there's not much cash, but there are a lot of cool people involved!
