(May 16) - Hollywood's Spidey senses are tingling again.

A year after "Spider-Man 3" overcame bad buzz to score $336 million at the box office, Sony is itching to shoot "Spider-Man 4" and "Spider-Man 5" back-to-back, Cinematical is reporting.

According to an anonymous Hollywood insider, "Zodiac" scribe James Vanderbilt recently turned in a working draft of the script for "Spider-Man 4," and the studio immediately siezed upon the idea of splitting it into two parts.

Says the source, the "story arc has encompassed two films, making 'Spider-Man 5' shootable at the same time. The studio saw dollar signs and is in the process of reworking [Vanderbilt's] deal to snatch up the story arc."

Simultaneously shooting multiple installments of big franchises has become increasingly common of late. The "Lord of the Rings" trilogy was filmed in one huge chunk, as were the second and third films in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. And the two halves of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will also be shot in this manner.

There is not yet any word on the plot or plots of future "Spider-Man" installments, nor has it been determined whether director Sam Raimi or stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst will reprise their roles.

Sony had no official comment at this time.

I think they should keep the same people. They aren't the best for the part, but they could do worse. Raimi having that stupid dance scene in the third movie, but pretty retarded of him. The scene was pointless, and even more so, when Mary Jane and him get back together after that. I mean, she acted as though she had completely forgotten what he did, when the two of them danced right before the credits rolled.

It doesnt matter what they do with the Spider-Man franchise, AS LONG AS MAGUIRE AND DUNST reprise thier roles. Otherwise, it should be a no-go. Look at the Harry Potter franchise, Same charachters, it works. Even X-MEN kept the same actors, and it somewhat worked. If they change the cast, it WILL be a disaster. Why mess with perfection? Maguire IS Spider-Man and Dunst IS Mary Jane Watson. Anybody else will just look amatuerish.

i loved all of the spidey movies so they should definitly make a 4 and 5 BUT with the same cast. whats the point in making another one with new ppl????

if there is seriously goin to be 2 more then they should have the same cast and director. i hate movies that dont have the same cast and crew. if the director and actors dont want to come back, i believe they shouldnt make these films. all they want is more money even if it destroys the franchise

We need our hero movies, that's for sure. If they make them with high quality standards, then I'll be glad to pay the $10.50 twice. Go Web-Head!

We don't need any more. The fanchise is complete and i personally don't want to see another after seeing the last one. Just like the Pirates of the Carribean movies, its left a Huge and great mark in entertainment history. Sam Raimi is a great director though. He should however get out of Spider Man before he regrets it. You cant have too much of a good thing.

I'm fairly excited, myself.

I hope they dump Dunst and Maguire, he sucks as Peter Parker and Dunst's face make me cringe. Even Raimi should go after allowing that stupid strut and dance sequence in the last movie, he shouldn't be allowed to touch the Spider-Man franchise again.
