Some Think Holmes Didn't Run Marathon

(Jan. 17) -- As if the Tom Cruise Scientology video leak this week wasn't enough scandal in the TomKat camp, now there are some people questioning whether Katie Holmes actually ran in the New York Marathon.

Web site Defamer.com, citing several conspiracy theorists and bloggers, has been compiling various mysterious tidbits of information which they contend may prove that Holmes was lying about running the marathon in November. See Their Photos and "Proof" Here

In one post, Defamer links another runner, #6047, to Holmes. In a picture on the blog post, the runner is seen next to Holmes wearing a traditional marathoner's ID bib, yet he's not listed in the marathon's registry database. One conspiracy theorist claims that the mystery man was actually "wearing her assigned timing chip - clearly adjacent to her at all times in the few photos that exists."

In another post, Defamer identifies another runner, Paul Vincent, who finished the marathon with the exact same time that Holmes did -- 5:29:59. They go on to ask whether Vincent is actually runner #6047.

Katie Talks Marathon

On a recent appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman," Holmes discussed the marathon, saying that she "loved it. It was hard, very hard. But I loved seeing New York City that way" She goes on to say that "Tom and Suri met me at mile 18 and I really wanted to get in the car at that moment. I really did. Luckily, they pushed me through."

Strangely enough, PEOPLE magazine reported that Holmes was in high heels hours after finishing the marathon, attending the premiere of Cruise's "Lions for Lambs." When asked about his wife's reslience, Cruise said: "I know, I know. It's amazing."

Earlier this week, Gawker.com posted an "indoctrination video" showing Tom Cruise speaking candidly about Scientology and what it means to him. In it, he makes claims that Scientologists know they're the only ones who can help people, and that Scientologists "are the authorities" on drug rehabilitation, the mind and "improving conditions."

Shortly after posting the video, Gawker.com received a copyright infringement letter from the Church of Scientology, demanding that they remove the video from their site. Gawker, insisting that the video is news and they are offering critical analysis of it, is refusing to pull the video.

Isn't it possible the man running beside her is security paid to stay with her. Hummm, he would probably have pretty much the same timed run she had.

Good Lord!! I'm not familiar with marathons (unless you count the time I had to run from the neighbor's Angus bull), but I never would have even thought of bleeding nipples! EEEEOUCH! Of course, I wouldn't have to worry about it because I'd probably get knocked unconscience first! LOL!!! Seriously........if women have large breasts, is a support bra alone enough, or would they maybe have to use a little duct tape or something to hold them still? Now that I think about it, though, I guess the constant rubbing of material against nipples (male or female) WOULD be kind of irritating, for hours upon end. What other odd things do people have to deal with to prepare themselves for something like this? Spill the secrets...this is as good as the tips from the beauty pageants! LOL!!

I really don't care, but I am just going to state the obvious. If she really ran a 26-mile marathon, why wouldn't she wear a support bra. She is wearing a tank top.

it still amazes me that people think that someone is famous that they have the right just run them down as much as they can and that they have a say in thier lives. i like them both. both are tallented actors. they seem happy. huhh....guess that means all you haters still lose. and for those who slam them on the whole scientology thing....none of thier vast charity work has a thing to do with scientologey. just nice people and seems some people hate that.

Well she certainly has that Cruise "manic glee" expression down pat. And does anyone else find that tongue-between-the-teeth thing cheesey and annoying?

Tom C. is getting more ugly as his facial features change. He'd better be glad he's got money! His wife isn't getting better looking either.

I don't give a crap if she ran in the marathon or not. I don't even have a problem with the Scientology Religion.

What I have a problem with is them saying that people shouldn't take medication for post partum depression. I bet the reason he apologized to Brooke Shields was because Katie had post partum depression and needed medication or at least her understood more of what it was about. They even invited Brooke to thier wedding.

That video proves Cruise is nuttier than a fruitcake.....

SATANlKA 06:00:49 PM Jan 18 2008

If Tom Cruise was just living his life and doing his thing, I'd say more power to him. The problem lies in the Scientologist dogma that you are either one of their own or you don't belong at ALL! Where does this "religion" get off trying to tell me that I don't have the right to see a Dr. for my very real and very difficult to deal with bipolar disorder? Did you see all the videos? He wants to make psychology ILLEGAL just because he dosen't agree. Do you really want to condone a cult that teaches people to believe "everyone at the game should be on the field (become a scientolobot) or should be kicked out of the stadium(kicke out of their way!)?"

GUSDOCVILL 05:09:46 PM Jan 18 20 I do not know why some people have to make their living putting followers of Scientology down. Scientology followers live differently than they do, but believe in something that helps them in their walk in this w

LOVED what William Burroughs did when HE was 'recruited' by the Scientologists in the sixties... Each time there was a questionable score on their E meter thing he'd say 'why, I'm just so in awe of Hubbard...' Later, of course, he let his real feelings be known. Like, they were all NUTS and of course he hadn't been fooled was just playing with THEIR heads. Would have been a coup for them to recruit HIM. So, rather than allowing them to intimidate him as they did to so many others back then, he stood across from their headquarters in London and photographed their comings and goings... Wow, good idea to do to them now, but hey with paparazzi folks and all they'd likely be flattered.

Who .. GIVES A DAMN if she ran the marathon?! Look who she's married to.
