The 31-minute tape was presented as evidence during the testimony of Tarita Virtue, a former employee of Pellicano who had been assigned to Rock's case. Rock was being sued by Monica Zsibrita, who claimed the comedian had raped and impregnated her during a 1998 meeting in Beverly Hills and had saved his semen and frozen it to use as evidence against him later on.
Rock was separated from his wife, Malaak, at the time of the encounter. Zsibrita has since dropped her lawsuit.
During the call, Rock reveals explicit details of his encounter with Zsibrita and Pellicano compares Zsibirta to Monica Lewinsky and her dirty blue dress. Rock sounds desperate as he concludes the conversation.
Chris Rock: Rape is just f---ng, buzz, you know?
Anthony Pellicano: The wonderful thing about this is that the police department doesn't believe her.
Rock: Once your accused of rape, you're just f--ked, you're just f---ked.
Pellicano: That's why I want to blacken this girl up, totally. I want to make her out to be a lying, scumbag, manipulating cocksucker, that's what I want. So that all that can ever come back to her is that. Stupid bitch.
Rock: I'm better getting caught with needles in my arm. Was better. Needles, with pictures, there's Chris Rock shooting heroin. Much better blow to the career.
Pellicano: It ain't gonna happen. I'm not going to let it happen.
Rock is also expected to testify during the trial.
On Thursday, comedian Garry Shandling took the stand, telling a Los Angeles federal court jury that Pellicano was involved in a "spin campaign to assassinate my character" during a bitter lawsuit between Shandling and his former manager Brad Grey.
Grey, now CEO of Paramount Pictures, and Shandling are among witnesses, including movie executives and actors Sylvester Stallone and Farrah Fawcett, who are expected to testify in the case that has kept Hollywood buzzing for more than five years.
Pellicano, 63, has pleaded not guilty to wiretapping the telephones of opponents of his powerful clients and bribing police and telephone company workers to run background checks.

Prosecutors say Grey's attorney hired Pellicano to investigate Shandling in 1999 after the comedian filed a $100 million lawsuit against Grey alleging his manager had cheated him out of earnings from "The Larry Sanders Show."
Grey has not been charged. The lawsuit was later settled for $10 million.
Prosecutors said that Pellicano had a former police officer run background checks on Shandling, his personal assistant, his accountant and a friend. Grey made threatening phone calls and numerous inaccurate stories began appearing in the media, Shandling testified.
"It's a creepy feeling," Shandling said. "It was a spiritual test to get through."
Pellicano and four co-defendants are being tried on more than 100 charges. Prosecutors have said that Pellicano's victims ranged from rape victims to cheating spouses and a troublesome screenwriter.
Pellicano has worked in the past for lawyers who represented Tom Cruise, Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson. Most of his celebrity clients have denied knowing that Pellicano was breaking the law.
