NEW YORK (Jan. 17) - Jack Nicholson, the legendary ladies' man, says he'd like to fall in love again.

"I never minded being a fool for love," the 70-year-old Oscar winner tells AARP The Magazine. "It's nice to have a place to be foolish. Ask any old friend of mine, they'll say, `Jack's pretty smart, but in this area the man is beyond the pale. Don't ask him anything about love. Or if you ask him, don't listen to him."'

Nicholson says getting older has changed the way he woos women.

What's Your Take?

For the Love of Jack

  • Married only once, to Sandra Knight (1962-1968)
  • Dated Anjelica Houston for 17 years
  • Has been linked to Michelle Phillips, Lara Flynn Boyle and Bebe Buell
  • Five kids by four different women; two with Rebecca Broussard

  • Source: AP / IMDB.com

"I can't hit on a girl in public like I used to," he says. "I never thought words like `undignified' would come into my own reflections on myself, but I can't do it anymore."

Nicholson, whose past flames include Anjelica Huston and Lara Flynn Boyle, explains: "I feel uncomfortable. I don't think anybody cares what I do in these areas, but it feels a little bit off to me."

He says he'd date a woman close to his age - or younger.

"In fact, every year I like to cover a very broad spectrum," he says. "But you know? I've been single for quite a long time. I've been invested in my teenage children" with ex-girlfriend Rebecca Broussard. (He was married to Sandra Knight in the 1960s.)

Nicholson says nearly all his contemporaries tell him they want "that one last big romance."

"I don't do a lot of original screenwriting anymore, but if I were, I'd find a way to make this the dramatic narrative of a movie, because it's one of those silent yearnings of my own age group," he says.

Nicholson co-stars with Morgan Freeman in "The Bucket List," about two terminally ill patients on a final fling.

He's received 12 Oscar nominations, winning for "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "Terms of Endearment" and "As Good as it Gets."

The March/April issue of AARP The Magazine will be available the week of Jan. 24.

Isn't it funny how we all kinda fantasize about being with a celebrity? What the heck, I think he is cool, has always been cool from his "bad boy" days to his senior days. Yep, I would give it a whirl. Life is too short to miss out on opportunities.

I love Jack.
He's a great actor.Your never to old for love either. 70 isn't old anymore anyway. There are lots of people middle age and up out there that are single, and that want a need a relationship.I say go for it Jack. We only live once, and it's each person business what way they want to live their personal lives. It keeps you young to be married or in a relationship.
Best wishes to you Jack.

Oddly enough, even though I am a few decades younger than Jack, I find him to be quite alluring. Loved his latest movie and found myself thinking about him. I think he would be a lot of fun to hang out with...and he is sexy. Sign me up!!!

I think he would be a fun date and interesting to talk to. JN seems to me to be a man who got better as he got older. He either did get more handsome ( or afforded better make up artists) speaking volumes with a one eyebrow cocked. I could imagine him being identical to the the astronaut in Terms on a lunch date with Shriley McClain. I could also imagine him to be a man I would like to know. Bet it would be a memorable date if nothing else. But age does teach us, don't love the bad boys. And Jack, me thinks ya might just be one. Smiles.

Yes, he has bad boy. And has gotten away with it . Name a few actors who hasn't. His children will most likely be brought to be fine human being, unlike the trash that America is bringing into American to allow us the glory of raising their children and themselves/

Seriously, the man is 70. The only thing prowling is an old man to the senior center. Unless someone has a gilf complex, this guy couldn't get a reach around from a Chinese drag queen. Move on already.

Well......I say to Jack..Date ouside the Hollywood and theatrical world. Get a down to earth lady, near your age. You want to have someone actually genuine, then thats the way to go. The woman does not necessarily have to be matronally. there are glamorous ladies out there, with brains and personality. Give it a go Jack, you may be pleasantly surprised.
