Reporters need to start labeling these stories better...

Cocaine problem stalls young starlet.

Heroin kills another young talent.

All drug use is tragic...even when its prescribed meds, and they are abused.

BUT, cocaine and heroin are special.

We need to heightened awareness about these two OBVIOUS EVILS, and evolve past their allure (and effects).

The sad thing here is that it's a missed opportunity for true honesty.

why do we use terms like "substance abuse", when the two substances
that we really need to band together and realize they need to go away:

cocaine and heroin.

Hollywood is really a land of cocaine (lotus) eaters. And it's sad, because
I think they are used to thinking of themselves in terms of their careers, which
last 10 years if you're lucky....they don't see life in the long term in a strange way, and it makes it easier to become addicted to "short-term" highs. However, cocaine and heroin deliver corrosive highs.

We need real honesty in reporting. When they report "substance" abuse, and younger ppl listen to the story, they don't get to tag it to "cocaine", and it keeps the illusive allure and "glamour" that ppl have lended cocaine. Younger kids need to see that there is life after the age of 30, and you really don't see how cocaine will ravage you when you first start doing it.

These celebrities are glamorizing substance abuse rehab by going to places that prepare gourmet meals, whip up healthy drinks, massages and mud baths...this is not rehab...it wouldn't be glamorous to be workig on one's issues via the Twelve Step AA Meeting at the local church...she also needs to work on the issue of purhasing better deodorant...
