Been there done That

"Why do they insist on having the chase scene run so long. I wanted to shout "Kojak Kojak" so bad."

ok movie

"i think the movie was ok but it was dragged on for way to long. By the way for donkixote most 13 year olds are watching rated r movies that are much worse than this and i think this movie was rated correctly cause it wouldnt of made it as an r movie."

u people r nuts

"okay so this movie rocked my soxs. It was soooo good it had me and all my friends on the edge of our seats and always kept us guess. I loved the fact it was from different points because then we could learn more and more about who was doing this. So it was a little graphic big deal! It's about what is going on in our world and what could happen. If it was on the news right now in real life u people wouldn't be saying anything about how it was bad or graphic. This movie mad eme feel like i was there . And if it were on the news u guys would want to see it from different points of view to so u can learn more about the situation. I mean y would u see it if u didn't want the same scenes to be played over and over again from different points of view. THAT"S WHAT VANTAGE POINT MEANS!!!! Oh well i recommed it"

Groundhog day revisited

"Everytime the clock popped up in the corner of the screen the entire audience groaned. This was a great cast, I was looking forward to the movie, but I was sooooo disappointed. The blood and guts was unnecessary, the plot twists that went nowhere were dull and whole let down of not using Dennis Quaid's great acting ability to the fullest was totally a disgrace."

Must be a Matthew Fox Fan

"I saw this because I saw my favorite actor from Lost in it. Didn't know anything about the film or the plot. Good thing. Terrible movie that reminds me of the film Groundhog Day. Same scene played over and over and over again. Doesn't matter that it was supposed to be from different "Vantage Points". It still didn't work. Save your money and go to dinner instead."

PG 13 ?????

"Our Film Rating Board says its ok for a 13 year old to see extreme graphic violence, cold blooded killings, close-ups of bodies ripped apart by explosion, over and over and over. However, show a woman's breast,"

casandrapaige | 03/09/2008 04:56 AM Notify

what a disappointment

"I've been looking forward to this movie since they began showing trailers back in the fall. Although the car chase was great and it moved well - there was no story here. The concept is great but it would have been nice to have some plot to follow. I think the build-up to this movie is what ruined it --- no, it just didn't deliver. Wait and get the dvd. I give it a C-"

take a look at this movie from different vantage points

"A lot of people are quick to judge this movie as a flimsy failure just because of its repeated use of rewinding and presenting different viewpoints of the action. OK, just because its been done before, doesn't mean its not entertaining. I found the movie very enjoyable and entertaining, even though the end does leave does untied ends and unanswered questions. So maybe it wasn't the best plot outline when all the vantage points have been pieced together; but it was a good thriller and it definitely raised some interesting social and political questions, whether intentional or not. The writer seems to cast America as the good guy, as the US president is saved in the end, while simultaneously critiquing the shady ways the American government often operates (the president's advisor suggesting some crazy attack for no good reason, doubles?)."

mcskibblets | 03/08/2008 12:38 PM Notify

iffy....

"it didnt live up to expectations......it was dull, and the same shots were featured over and over. After the first couple going back in times....it got reallly cheezy. i went with my friends, and we just talked threw the whole thing....it got old quickly"

Vantage Point Was Awesome!

"I absolutely can't believe how some people and critics did not like this movie. True, it won't win any academy awards, but then again the English Patient, one of the worst movies I've ever seen, won best picture several years ago. What I really loved about the movie, though, is that I felt like I was there...I felt like I was in the crowd during the mayor's speech, and even during the car chase. I can see how some people would get bored seeing the president get shot from different vantage points, but you learn a little bit more each time. Not only was I on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film, the film had some excellent social commentary...and if you actually closely pay attention to the film, you'll see it. The movie was definitely better than I expected!"

candicelcookie | 03/07/2008 04:09 PM Notify

Don't see it!

"The movie really does play the same scene over and over again with really cheesy music during a really cheesy rollback effect. Completely boring, everyone in the theater was talking."

normanlerner | 03/03/2008 06:41 PM Notify

"Line of Fire" meets "Groundhogs Day."

"This mess was "In the Line of Fire" meets "Groundhogs Day"and it failed to work on either level. How many times can we see William Hurt being hurt? How real is it when the murderers after killings and maiming dozens, perhaps hundreds, swerve their van just to avoid hitting a little girl and by so doing put their master plan into jepordy?? This was just a fat payday for some big name actors, nothing more and a good deal less."

jmhjmd | 03/03/2008 06:37 PM Notify

You must have a better way to spend 84 minutes.

"The first 50-60 minutes are interesting, if only to see the same scene played out from the differing perspectives. But the final plot twist destroys what might have been an OK movie, at best. A lot of talent goes to waste in small roles that could have been filled by others for less and, perhaps with greater effect (Sigourney Weaver's role, for example, didn't require someone of her talents; her presence raises expectations and then knocks the pins out from under them when she quickly disappears from the screen.)Wait for the DVD and then wait for a night when you can't sleep and there's nothing on cable.P.S. For those who think the use of various perspectives and re-runs of the same event from those perspectives is new, it's not. See, for example, Rashomonhttp://imdb.com/title/tt0042876/"

"this picture was soooo bad, how the hell are they making pictures these days ? don't ask me. I use to love to go to the movies, but now i have my doubts."

Vantage Point

"I really enjoyed this movie. Not sure why the critics gave it such a bad rating. It kept you guessing and on your seats waiting to see what was going to happen next. It was irritating at first when 12pm kept starting over but after some time into the movie you finally realize who they all connected from the different points of view."

uccpz | 03/02/2008 11:33 PM Notify

Good, as long as you can understand....

"awsome film if you can understand the concept, personaly I thought the name "vantage point" explained that multiple view was implied, but most that watched the movie were very confused.... I loved it!"

Presented differently

"Best action thriller since pic since Borne Ultimatum, was very entertaining. If your 16 and have "ADD" then you may not be able to follow the story and surely will complain that it doesn't make sense and whatever. Otherwise if your attention span is longer than 10 minutes then see this movie, its presented differently than anything you've seen before, keeps you guessing the whole way through, realistic action sequences keep you on edge, I say its worth the money."

The Producers of This Movie Must Think We're Idiots

"While the concept of seeing an event from different points of view is an interesting one, the execution of it is not. This has to be the worst movie I have seen this year. The paper thin plot has nothing to do with reality. Dennis Quad's character must be from Krypton. Nothing seems to injure him. Forrest Whitaker is wasted in this movie. He won an Oscar and should be in movies that actually make sense. Instead he is stuck in this lame movie.Do not waste your money on this movie. If you believe what is going on in the movie, I have a nice bridge to sell you."

bballman72 | 03/02/2008 01:16 AM Notify

Intense

"This moving is definitely a movie to see. It's intense through out the whole movie and leaves you waiting to find out what really happens. it's a great movie and must be seen."

Great Movie!

"Very good movie allot of action, about 15 to 20 minuts into the movie you my want to scream and walk out becase the movie keeps repeating it self, but dont do that you will undestand why the movie is doing that! Its a very good movie it was full of action and it made me wondering what woudl happen next! Was very good!"

kimmags127 | 03/02/2008 12:01 AM Notify

Disappointment

"I saw the previews for this film in November. I could not wait until it was out. I finally got to see it today! Do not waste your money. I kept waiting for something to happen and just when I thought something exciting was going to happen, it ended. I don't even understand why their was commercials for 4 months giving you pieces of a puzzle to figure this movie out. It doesn't take a genius to figure out this plot because, there is no plot. It was just that bad. Oh yeah, Dennis, you really need to get some sleep. You look run down and old."

gmoviego | 03/01/2008 04:45 PM Notify

LOTS OF ACTION

"I LIKE THE MOVIE!!!! I DON'T THINK THERE WAS OVER ACTING! I BELIEVE IN THE ACTORS.I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T THE SAME O'THING!!!!! IT WAS LOOKING BEFORE AND DURING THE MOMENTS ALL WHILE THE CHASE WAS ON!I LIKE ACTION AND I LIKE DRAMA. IT HAD ALL THAT AND IT DID KEEP YOU GOING! I LIKE THE ENDING!"

chelsey2qt4u | 03/01/2008 03:19 PM Notify

Great!!!

"This movie was definitely entertaining, and I don't know about the rest of you but when I watch a movie that's what I go for. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I enjoyed trying to figure it out before the people in the movie did."

lwinepool | 03/01/2008 11:42 AM Notify

A movie = entertainment!

"When I go to a movie I am looking for entertainment. This movie did not let me down. I enjoyed the way the director unfolded the story, the way he allowed you the learn more pieces of the story each sequence, the way the story built and the intensity that it held throughout....From my own vantage point this movie kept me involved, entertained and thoroughly interested. It was fast paced and it was entertainment!"

twosides | 03/01/2008 08:21 AM Notify

Horrible

"If my husband hadn't wanted to stay, I would have walked out within 15 minutes. What an annoying repetitious awful movie. Don't waste your money or time."

matthew1253 | 03/01/2008 02:07 AM Notify

Unrealistic, Just an OK movie

"Very unrealistic, but still just an "ok" movie. It is still entertaining."
