Read the full reviewThere's something about Hunt's put-upon persona that grates, and it would be nice to see her for once in a role that doesn't call on her to be so angry, short-tempered and disappointed all the time...Still, all in all, Then She Found Me is a warm, entertaining and well-made little movie and an auspicious debut for Hunt the director.

Read the full reviewThere are some wise observations about parenting. Hunt draws some good performances from the cast and wisely chose a low-key personal story for her directorial debut.

Read the full reviewThis is the sort of movie that gives "chick flicks" a bad name. It's a cross between inept melodrama and a bad sit-com.

Did not flow well.
"I was so dissapointed in this movie. I felt the acting was ok but the writing was poor and the dialogue was not believable.Even seemed akward at times. There were some smart moments that Helen Hunt tried to convey to the audience that I got but it didn't flow very well.It wasn't funny and I felt embarrassed for Bette Midler's character. I realize HH wanted to show realism in her characters but I couldn't get passed Bette Midlers puffy cosmetically enhanced cheeks and Helen Hunts frown lines. . I felt myself wondering when it would end. The actors are all great. I just wish they were in another movie so I could fully enjoy their talents."
depressing!!!
"I was in a good mood when I went to this movie and had to walk out in the middle of it. If you are in love or happy, DON'T SEE IT! I should have asked for my money back."
Reality at its best
"This was a great movie. If someone went through what Helen Hunt's character did, I doubt they would look that sunny. This was a good look at real life, and it gave a positive outlook at the end. Sometimes life is not positive. The acting was terrific. The script was very good. The directing great."
then she found me
"the show was good, but the actors were too close up, needed more makeup, you could see every line on face, it was too dark, and a little blurry... the actors did terric acting, but it was more of a second rate movie.. bet midler looked cute, but the clothing on the other actors were ridiculous... makes the picture seem like you had a very low budget...they didn't give too much imagination to the backgroud scenery, if they did i think the picture would have been a lot more interesting"
Worth the Risk?
"A father encourages his son to take a risk by asking him to trust. But what happens when trust is suddenly removed? Sometimes, life comes tumbling down; for better or worse. Helen Hunt's directorial debut in "Then She Found Me" asks her audience to trust. Her potrayal of a middle-aged woman yearning to conceive leads the audience through a complexity of interpersonal relationships that come alive by sometimes placing an uncomfortable spotlight back on the viewer. Helen's own character's facade (thin, a bit frail, sans makeup) reminds us that life isn't always beautiful or predictable, but often stressful, complicated, and/or ironically humerous. The supporting cast (Bette Midler, Colin Firth, Matthew Broderick) all make fine contributions, without tipping the emotional canoe.I recommend this film to audiences that accept the challenges of life, but can travel its highway without a road sign posted every mile along the way."

"Helen Hunt was a little too thin and a little too wan. On the other hand, both the story and the acting were quite good. A touch of sadness, a dash of abandonment with a dialogue that was sometimes melancholic sometimes clever but always enlightening. It should be seen!!"
Then She Found Me
"Very dissappointed in this Helen Hunt movie. The acting was not good movie was not funny. Helen Hunt looked ill. I cannot give this movie any kind of good review other than the cast was good but the movie was missing something!"
