While being a fan of Will Smith I found this movie so disappointing. The computer generated deer, lions and "infectees" were all a big letdown. Will's acting and Sam, the dog, were wonderful as was the backdrop of a hauntingly beautiful postplague New York City but so much more could have been done to make this a great film. I wrongly purchased the cd instead of renting first. I could have saved the money. I'd give it a 2 out of 10 just for the backdrop, dog and Will. Such a disappointment.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen....butchered the book it was based upon, there were so many plot-holes that it looked like a bunch of sketches put together, plus it just seemed like huge gaps were left out, the ending was laughable, how could u make a "R" rated book into a sell-out PG-13 movie...only decent part of the movie was Will Smith's acting and the interaction with the dog...overall, one of the most dissappointing movies I have seen.

I absolutely LOVE this movie!!! I could watch this over and over! Want ti on DVD. Will is a great actor.

One of my favorite movies! I thought Smith did and awesome job and everyone I know who went to go see it, LOVED it! I would highly recommend it in theaters or on DVD...I will buy it as soon as it comes out.

When I first saw the trailer I thought to myself "This looks like a remake of The Omega Man" with Charlon Heston." Then when I saw the film it was like a remake of it. Maybe it was supposed to be? The thing is, is that I was a preteen when I saw the Omega Man and I can't recall anything about trying to find a cure. But everything else in the film was straight out of The Omega Man. Besides that, I didn't care for the film at all.

I Am Legend overcomes questionable special effects and succeeds largely on the strength of Will Smith's mesmerizing performance.
