Seuss toon hears a pair of voices

Jim Carrey is returning to Who-ville. Carrey will voice the title character in "Horton Hears A Who," 20th Century Fox's CGI animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss book. Steve Carell will voice the Mayor of Who-ville. Carrey, who previously played the title character in the live-action "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," this time plays the elephant who hears a cry of help from a floating dust speck, and strives to protect it from neighbors who think he's nuts. The film, which is being produced by "Ice Age" makers Blue Sky, will be released March 12, 2008, by Fox.

Hollywood hears a 'Who'

Twentieth Century Fox Animation has set Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino to direct its CGI-animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic "Horton Hears a Who." Fox has slotted the film for a spring 2008 release. Pic is being produced by Blue Sky, makers of "Ice Age" and "Robots."

The Who locks rock doc

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, the surviving members of the Who, have partnered with Spitfire Pictures' Nigel Sinclair and Guy East on a feature documentary about the band. "My Generation: Who's Still Who" will be directed by Murray Lerner, who made 1970 documentary "The Who - Live at the Isle of Wight" and won an Oscar for the documentary "From Mao to Mozart: Isaac Stern in China." Townshend and Daltrey will be interviewed and will supply their own archival material. They are appealing to fans to contribute footage they may have shot; they've set up Web site www.thewhomovie.com as a repository.

Seuss' 'Who' to get animated

20th Century Fox Animation has made a deal to turn the Dr. Seuss classic "Horton Hears a Who" into a CGI-animated film. The movie will tell the classic tale of an elephant who incurs the wrath of everyone around him to protect a speck of dust that he believes contains a living being.
