Synopsis

Based on Nick Hornby's novel of the same title, this film is the story of Will (Hugh Grant), an irresponsible, idle thirtysomething Londoner, who invents a son in order to score dates with young single -- and desperate -- mothers. But when he becomes friends with a 12-year-old boy, Will's plan takes a turn -- one that leads him to the boy's depressed mother (Toni Collette), who introduces him to his dream girl (Rachel Weisz).
