Patrick Dempsey: Hi there, welcome to Moviefone's Unscripted. I'm Patrick Dempsey.

Amy Adams: I'm Amy Adams.

Patrick Dempsey: Are you sure?

Amy Adams: I thought you were going to introduce me.

Patrick Dempsey: And this is my co-star, Amy Adams. And what movie is this?

Amy Adams: We are going to talk about 'Enchanted' and we're going to ask each other some questions and some of your questions as well as some of our own. I think Patrick is going to start.

Patrick Dempsey: What am I saying? I think it's going to pop up here. What is your favorite fairy tale?

Amy Adams: I like 'Cinderella.'

Patrick Dempsey: You do?

Amy Adams: Yeah, I do. She has a good work ethic. I appreciate a good, hard-working gal. And she likes shoes.

Patrick Dempsey: Addicted to shoes.

Amy Adams: The fairy tale is all about that shoe at the end, and I'm a shoe girl.

Patrick Dempsey: Good, good.

Amy Adams: What are your secrets to being a real-life Prince Charming?

Patrick Dempsey: How do you answer that one? That's a tough one.

Amy Adams: Honestly.

Patrick Dempsey: Okay, thank you. I don't think about that at all. It's funny how it's come up because of the movie and because of the whole image at the end where we're dancing and stuff like that. People have that perception of being Prince Charming.

Amy Adams: So you think white knickers help?

Patrick Dempsey: And the boots. I think riding boots really helped me feel like a prince.

Amy Adams: Riding boots and white knickers. That's a good secret.

Patrick Dempsey: That's my secret. I keep it under all of my pants now.

Amy Adams: Good, just to sort of get you in the mood.

Patrick Dempsey: It makes me feel princely.

Amy Adams: Oh, good. I have that white dress on under here.

Patrick Dempsey: Yeah, it's good. It's great. Okay, here it comes. You are the princess now. What is that like? How does it feel? Isn't it sort of surreal to be part of a whole Disney heritage?

Amy Adams: Yes, it's completely surreal. I don't think while we were shooting it that it really sunk in. I didn't think about being a Disney princess. I think the first time I even considered it was when your daughter came to the set and I was forever more the princess. Even today.

Patrick Dempsey: "Can I spend time with the princess?"

Amy Adams: So yeah, that's the first time I ever thought about it. So it's somewhat surreal. Big shoes to fill.

Patrick Dempsey: And how do you feel about your doll?

Amy Adams: I think the profile is good. I think the profile is very good. My mom called me this morning and she was like, "It's just so weird, it's like I dressed you up as a princess for Halloween." Leave it to Mom. Did you ever consider other career pursuits when Hollywood wasn't giving you many roles?

Patrick Dempsey: I really wished I had something to fall back on, I really did. But I'm glad I didn't because it made me not give up on the dream and dealing with all the rejection. Auditioning is the worst process. What did I do to sort of sustain ... I worked on houses and did some re-modeling and sold them so it gave me something to look at the end of the day, so it justified my existence. It was very hard. I took every audition. There was 10 years where I would audition for stuff and not get anything. That's very hard.

Amy Adams: I know the feeling.

Patrick Dempsey: Oh, Unscripted!

Amy Adams: I know. I've been wanting to ask this for a long time. Who do you think is prettier, me or Jimmy [Marsden]? Now, be honest.

Patrick Dempsey: Jimmy looks pretty good on-screen. The cheekbones. The jawline. Beautiful.

Amy Adams: I knew that was going to be the answer.

Patrick Dempsey: That's okay. I cant believe you asked that. Are you a true redhead? You have beautiful hair. Your hair is gorgeous.

Amy Adams: Thank you. I am a strawberry blonde. So I do have red in there, but I definitely have enhanced it in the past.

Patrick Dempsey: So you do all the dress-up stuff for premieres and events -- I mean, how do you feel about that? It's a lot of work to get ...

Amy Adams: It's fun. It's like dress-up. If I had to do that everyday, I would get tired of it because I do sort of like to be earthy as well, and I can be a bit of a barefoot girl running around, but its really fun to step into the role of ... I always like to come up with a different theme for the event. Depending on the dress I'm wearing, I like to think of a different character in my head and that helps me sort of get through the red carpet stuff because that can be challenging.

Patrick Dempsey: True.

Amy Adams: What is one of the perks of being one of the sexiest men in Hollywood?

Patrick Dempsey: It's funny having this question or just being perceived that way.

Amy Adams: You don't find yourself sexy?

Patrick Dempsey: I wake up in the morning and I'm like, "God, I really am sexy." I just cant help it. It's true. You're right.

Amy Adams: But are there perks to being perceived that way?

Patrick Dempsey: Absolutely. It's nice to have the attention. That's certainly good for the ego. It's kind of funny. It's all part of the machinery of the character and how the writer is writing it.

Amy Adams: I think you bring such a vulnerable masculinity to roles, and that's breathlessly charming to women.

Patrick Dempsey: Oh okay, thank you.

Amy Adams: So I wouldn't put all the credit in the hands of the writers.

Patrick Dempsey: That's a very nice compliment. Thank you. Growing up in a family with six siblings, how did that affect the choices you've made as an adult?

Amy Adams: I think it affects me in the sense that I always have a committee there to support me or challenge me, depending on how my behavior is. But I think it's definitely ... it's given me a great sense of reality.

Patrick Dempsey: I'm going Unscripted now. How do they feel about the success you've had? You've been doing this for a while, and the journey that you've been on.

Amy Adams: I think it's sort of surreal to them. But I've included them and bring them to events and let them see that it's just a job and they are coming around and really are enjoying it. I have a lot of love and support from them and I'm very grateful, and I don't call them enough, and I need to. So I'm saying that now in a public forum, to apologize for being so self-absorbed while I'm working. Oh, okay. Were those shoes meant to not have any laces?

Patrick Dempsey: Yeah, they are.

Amy Adams: Oh okay, that was it. I've just been sitting here wondering.

Patrick Dempsey: Everyone has been asking me that: "Why don't you have any laces?"

Amy Adams: No, but I like it. They have some great embroidery around ... Sorry, I just wasted my Unscripted on your shoe question. Maybe I can squeeze another one in.

Patrick Dempsey: Okay, ask me another one, real quick.

Amy Adams: What's the weirdest thing you've ever done to prepare for a role? Or the most surreal thing?

Patrick Dempsey: Well, I think it was fun to sit in on a brain surgery. It was cool. They let me in the operating room. I couldn't believe it.

Amy Adams: Oh that's fantastic. So you saw the brain and everything?

Patrick Dempsey: Yeah, it was on a little boy who was 8 years old, he had an arachnoid cyst operation, and the doctors were all talking about what they ate for dinner the night before. And that was really interesting to be in that world and see how they handle things. That was probably the strangest thing I've ever done.

Amy Adams: That was a good one.

Patrick Dempsey: Oh, listen to this. Now if you needed medical attention ...

Amy Adams: Depends on what kind.

Patrick Dempsey: Well one is a plastic surgeon and one is a neuro. Who would you want to attend to you? McDreamy or McSteamy?

Amy Adams: I like McDreamy. I do. He's so much more human. He is more flawed. I mean that in a ... I'm not just saying it about the towel scene or anything.

Patrick Dempsey: You are saying I should work out more. I know.

Amy Adams: Well it's a no-brainer. You go to a plastic surgeon or a neurosurgeon, it depends on what kind of medical attention I'm looking for. Ah, from Sarah in Paris, France. Have you always loved fast cars and do you have any races coming up?

Patrick Dempsey: The Baja 1000 is coming up in a couple of weeks and then the Daytona 24 Hours is coming up next year. Early next year.

Amy Adams: Are you going to race in those?

Patrick Dempsey: Yes. Mazda has been sponsoring me in the RX8 and Sobe LifeWater as a sponsor too, so I'm looking forward to that. On Friday nights, my dad would come home with a little Matchbox car for me when I was really young, so I think my fascination with cars started there. And then my first car was a 1963 356 Porsche convertible I bought after 'Can't Buy Me Love.'

Amy Adams: Did you drive it too fast?

Patrick Dempsey: Always. I mean it's fun. I like racing. I really enjoy it, and it kinda gets back to when I was a kid and ski racing and things like that. I kinda go back to that period in my life, I think. That's it?

Amy Adams: Yeah, and now you are going to thank me.

Patrick Dempsey: Thank you for doing this.

Amy Adams: And Moviefone. Thank you Moviefone.

Patrick Dempsey: Thank you Moviefone. This has been fun.

Amy Adams: Thank you for watching and sending in your questions.

Patrick Dempsey: I hope we get a chance to do this again.

Amy Adams: Yeah, that would be fun. Make sure and check out 'Enchanted.'

Patrick Dempsey: It's a lot of fun.
